I normally wouldn't stop in here, but a email game with some posts about what others would like to see from the game and I saw a post about "out in the open shoot fest".
PLEASE NO T ANOTHER brainless "shoot or be shot" carnage fest. "OVERWATCH" (YUCK) HALO (Yuck) BATTLEBORN, and TEAM FORTRESS - PLEASE NO!
We have those. I bought in thinking this was something new, something special. Something more like the HUNGER GAMES movie. I also see posts about WEAPONS... again hoping not some big BLASTER or other automatic weapons and thinking more like "crafted weapons" - maybe craft a "mine" to set a trap or make a bow, and or find poison to put on arrorws to make them more effective. Maybe a razor blade with poison one could leave in a area where someone is likey to perch (and get cuz by it). - a swinging log trap ? as I type this the movie PREDITOR just popped into my head as well. In that case they did have automatic weapons, but the enemy had some stealth option too. (and or shields?)
Out in the open battle - (should be possible) but only if those choose to go into the open or there is need to go to the open area? (TO GET SUPPLIES?) If I recall right Hunger games had those areas.
I'm hoping the game be more like those two movies with maybe a CRYSIS feel of jungle and tech.
Hoping the ISLAND(s)? have their own dangers - but in say - a puzzle form... where maybe each area has a timed (danger) and the players need to be aware of that danger and time frame in addition to the battle. Maybe to make sure you're NOT pinned down in an area that has a danger after dark? Or a volcano that emits gas every 2 hours... (20 minutes) ? a time frame where if you won't "THINK" you could loose your life to stupidity - not just an enemy combatant.
Hunger Games also had items dropped from the sky. SURELY there is no way for someone to send them to us - so maybe a random element where many players see the supply drop - but who wants to blow cover to reap the reward?
One of my favorite gams is Mech Warrior online - due to the complexity and options of play... from stealth - sniper - to close combat depending on configurations and weapons and armor. Someone may find a FLAK VEST? and have the protection to run into the open - where another may not have that option and is forced to stay in deep cover and snipe passers by.
My hope is that there is more THINKING and less BLAST or be BLASTED. Hoping each match is a NEW Game and not a repeat of the one you just finished. I'd be all for games that last a hour or two rather than 5 minutes. A game that is a mix of skill AND CHANCE but with the winners being more of the players that USE THEIR HEADS... in their various situations.

Do they mean like all the zombie games already out there? = (
yes - realistic... (we get cut? are loosing blood? we need to treat the wound or continue to bleed... ) but don't just add bloody to be bloody.
